For three years, Kate Marshall has been mourning the loss of her husband and four-year-old son in a boating accident. But when she spots a familiar-looking child on a mall escalator, she’s convinced it’s her son. With police skeptical of her story, she turns to private investigator Connor Sullivan for help. As the former Secret Service agent digs into the case, the boating “accident” begins to look increasingly suspicious. But if Kate’s son is alive, someone is intent on keeping him hidden–and may go to lethal lengths to protect a sinister secret.
As Irene Hannon’s many fans have come to expect, Deceived is filled with complex characters, unexpected twists, and a riveting plotline that accelerates to an explosive finish.

Wow! What a ride!
Irene Hannon’s newest thriller is every mothers nightmare.
Having your child go missing would be a devastating experience, but when the main character believes she sees her son in a crowded mall- of course, she must find out the truth!
I completely empathized with Kate from the beginning…a mother and wife who will stop at nothing to find out what really happened to her husband and son that day. The anguish and aggravation she experienced…the guts it took to go to the PI in the first place. She was really a brave, unforgettable character.
And of course, Connor…a strong hero for this story with his own issues to work through. I loved these two characters so much!
Suspense is one of my favorite genres and Irene does it so well. This story kept me riveted and reading late into the night. If you love a great suspense novel…do not miss Decieved!
